Mumbai: Mumbai Crime Branch teams reached Kota on Tuesday and are expected to bring the three shooters in the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff to Mumbai on Wednesday. They will be produced before a court, where the police will seek their custody for further interrogation.
Investigators want to establish who masterminded the conspiracy, when and where the plot was hatched, what the exact plan was and what motive lay behind the firing. "The probe will also focus on whether the attack was linked to an extortion demand or intended as a threat, why Tiger Shroff was specifically chosen as the target, and whether he was the intended target from the outset," a senior police official said on condition of anonymity.
On Sunday, at around 7 pm, when Shroff was leaving a Juhu ground after his football practice, the three accused - Phool Singh, Hrithik Kumar alias Roshan and Rehan Ansari - were allegedly waiting outside the premises. Singh and Ansari allegedly opened fire, discharging five rounds. One of the pistols jammed during the shooting, preventing them from firing further. Kumar, who was waiting on a motorcycle, allegedly started the vehicle after the firing and fled with the other two.
The Bishnoi gang has allegedly claimed responsibility for the firing through a social media post and an audio recording circulated online.
