The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'yellow alert' for Saturday for moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds at the speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in most parts of Delhi-NCR. Due to the monsoon trough being close to the latitude of Delhi and the pressure of cyclonic winds over North India, the sky of the capital is covered with dense dark clouds. On the other hand, there is a strong possibility of waterlogging due to heavy rains at major junctions like Cyber ​​City, IFFCO Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk and Subhash Chowk in Gurugram, Haryana. Apart from this, people have been asked to avoid parking vehicles under old trees or dilapidated hoardings, as there is a risk of branches breaking due to strong winds. Regarding metro services, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said that trains on all lines will operate as per the normal timetable, although there is a possibility of increased crowd of passengers at the stations during the rains. Climate improved due to rain: Big improvement in Air Quality Index (AQI) The most positive aspect of this continuous monsoon rain has been seen on the climate of Delhi-NCR. However, due to these fluctuations in weather and stagnant water after rains, the risk of spread of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya increases. The Health Department has appealed to the citizens not to allow water to accumulate around their houses, in coolers, pots kept on rooftops or in old tyres.
