Bangladesh has created history. Bangladeshi team has defeated Australia by 9 wickets in Darwin Test. On the fourth day of the match (16 August), the second innings of the Kangaroo team was limited to 284 runs. Bangladesh had gained a lead of 228 runs on the basis of first innings. In this way he got a small target of 56 runs, which he easily achieved by losing 1 wicket in 14.1 overs. This is Bangladesh's first Test win on Australian soil. He played 2 test matches in Australia in 2003. He had lost in both those test matches.
The heroes of this historic victory of Bangladesh were Hasan Mahmood, Tanjid Hasan and Mehdi Hasan Miraj. Fast bowler Hasan Mahmood had bowled out Australia for 198 runs by taking 6 wickets in the first innings. He took 3 wickets in the second innings. Tanjid Hasan scored 101 runs in Bangladesh's first innings. Mehdi Hasan Miraj, apart from scoring 65 runs, took 5 wickets. Bangladesh has defeated Australia for the second time in Test cricket. Earlier in 2017, it had defeated the Kangaroo team by 20 runs in the Mirpur Test.
Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. It was reduced to 198 runs in front of the havoc bowling of Hasan Mahmood, Taskin Ahmed and Ibadat Hussain. Steve Smith scored the highest 71 runs. In response, Bangladesh scored 426 runs. Tanjid Hasan played a century innings. Captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto scored 84 runs. Shadman scored 25 not out, while Mominul scored 30 not out. The winning four came from Mominul's bat. The second match of the 2 test match series will be played in Mackay from 22nd August.
