An IPL playoffs or a knockout game is among the most high-pressure encounters a player could be part of in their entire career.

These are the big matches that could play a defining role in a player’s IPL career. The sort of game fans would hype forever, such as Suresh Raina’s famous 87 (25) from IPL 2014 Qualifier 2, an innings that even overshadowed Virender Sehwag’s 122, or Kieron Pollard’s 60 (32) in the IPL 2013 final that helped MI win their maiden IPL trophy.

Over the last decade, the batsmen have generally towered over the bowlers. Flat pitches and the freedom to play fearlessly have resulted in tall scores, surpassing 200 even in the intense playoffs/knockout matches. Let’s check out the 5 Highest Team Totals In IPL Playoffs

Top 5 Highest Team Totals In IPL Playoffs And Knockout Matches

5. 222/5 – CSK vs DC, 2012, Chennai

In Qualifier 2 of IPL 2012, Chennai Super Kings hammered 222/5 against Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils). Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) produced one of the most famous IPL playoffs matches in the IPL 2014 Qualifier 2 at the Wankhede Stadium.

Riding on Virender Sehwag’s 122 (58), Punjab posted a daunting total of 226. In the chase, Raina flew off the handle and couldn’t be restrained by any Punjab bowler as the left-hander smashed 87 runs off 25 balls.

CSK touched 100 at the end of the powerplay, and the required run rate had become manageable. However, on the first ball after the powerplay, Raina got run out, and then CSK collapsed, eventually losing by 24 runs. Punjab, however, were beaten by KKR in the final.

      3. 228/5 – MI vs GT, 2025, Mullanpur

They achieved this feat against Gujarat Titans in Dharamsala. Asked to bat first, RCB got going through aggressive starts from Venkatesh Iyer, Virat Kohli, and Devdutt Padikkal.

But the primary boost to the innings was provided by captain Rajat Patidar. The RCB skipper, batting at No. 4, thumped 93* runs off 33 balls with the help of five fours and nine sixes. Patidar’s acceleration propelled RCB from 189 at the 16th over mark to 254 by the end of the innings.
