Rajesh Tiwari (Bureau Report)
Sonbhadra / Uttar Pradesh –
Farmers in the district are requiring farmer registration and ID to avail the benefits of fertilizers, pesticides and other agriculture facilities. In many cases, due to the names and addresses of farmers being recorded differently in Khasra-Khatauni of revenue records or due to differences in surnames like Singh, Kumar, Devi, Rani, Kumari etc. with their names, farmers have to make rounds of tehsils for name correction. In this regard, complaints of unnecessary delay were being received from farmers.
Taking serious cognizance of the matter, District Magistrate Charchal Gaur has directed all the Deputy District Magistrates to make the process of name amendment simple, transparent and time bound, keeping the interest of the farmers paramount. He said that farmers should not face any unnecessary trouble and revenue officials should not make them visit the tehsil again and again.
The District Magistrate directed that a fixed time limit should be fixed from the receipt of the application for name amendment till the completion of the amendment and its strict compliance should be ensured. He regularly reviewed the pending cases at the Lekhpal, Kanungo and Naib Tehsildar level and fixed the responsibility on receiving complaints. Instructions have been given.
He said that as per the intention of the government, it is the priority of the administration to provide quick and easy services to the farmers and there should not be laxity at any level.
