In IPL 2026, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has started from where he left in the 18th season. On Monday, March 30, Rajasthan Royals (RR) young player Vaibhav did something against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) which even MS Dhoni might not have thought of. At the age of just 15, Vaibhav created such a stir with his batting that he scored a half-century in 15 balls and broke the big records of IPL like a deck of cards.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi came like a cyclone for the Rajasthan team, which was chasing a small target of just 128 runs in the third match of IPL 2026. He hit such fours and sixes all around the ground that Chennai’s world-class bowling attack looked completely helpless. By completing his half-century in just 15 balls, Vaibhav made the record of scoring the third fastest fifty in IPL history. His aggressive innings made the Guwahati audience dance and made the match completely one-sided.
In this innings of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, less bookish shots and more power hitting were seen. He hit 4 fours and 5 brilliant sixes during his innings. Vaibhav’s strike rate was 305.88, which is incredible in terms of T20 cricket. However, he got a lease of life on the very first ball, which he took full advantage of. After this he did not look back and by the end of the powerplay, Rajasthan’s score reached 74/0.
This half-century of Vaibhav Suryavanshi has come third among the fastest half-centuries of IPL. This is the second fastest fifty for Rajasthan Royals. Ahead of him is only Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a half-century in 13 balls in 2023. With this innings, Suryavanshi has included himself among the rising stars of the league.
